Support a good cause – Festival of Wreaths
What better way to get into the holiday spirit than give back to your local community? Now, Charleston residents can give back while enjoying champagne, hors d’oeuvres, live music and holiday wreaths by local designers! Join The Shops at Charleston Place and American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) as they raise funds to benefit the MUSC Children’s Hospital during the fourth annual Festival of Wreaths at the Palmetto Café on Thursday, December 10 from 6 pm to 8 pm.
The halls of The Shops at Charleston Place will again fill with the familiar sights and sounds of the holiday season with the Festival of Wreaths where Charleston’s most charitable gather to enjoy friendly company and musical entertainment from “Silver Lining” while bidding on designer holiday wreaths created by local artisans with 100 percent of proceeds benefiting the MUSC Children’s Hospital. The hospital plans to use these funds to support the prevention and treatment research for childhood diseases, continue developing treatment programs and support the child-life department of the hospital with resources and supplies that make the children’s visit less like a trip to the hospital and more like their bedroom at home.
Guests of the Festival of Wreaths will have the opportunity to bid during a silent auction on 14 locally designed wreaths. In addition to amassing bids, each wreath will be evaluated by celebrity judges Ellen Mcgauley of Charleston Home, Caroline Nuttall of CHARLIE, and Marcus Amaker of The Post & Courier for the chance to win one of the following three awards: Best in Show, Holiday Classic and Most Creative. The wreath receiving the highest number of bids will receive Charleston’s Choice Award. The wreaths are being designed by ASID members.
To attend the Festival of Wreaths, guests can purchase tickets in advance for $10 at Orient-Express Boutique at The Shops at Charleston Place or by calling 843.937.9142. Tickets will be $15 at the door. Upon request, guests receive complimentary parking validation for the Charleston Place garage on Hassell Street. To continue the festivities after the event, guests can enjoy a special “Festival of Wreaths” cocktail at the Thoroughbred Club as well as take advantage of Charleston Place’s “Take the Elevator Home” promotion for event attendees offering a discounted room rate of $149.00 to enjoy an evening in the heart of Charleston.
